About United Employment Lawyers

A Unique Network of Expert Employment Lawyers

United Employment Lawyers is a collaborative network of lawyers and legal professionals who want to deliver employment law solutions in a better way by focusing on the changing needs of their clients. The way UEL lawyers work together enables them to respond effectively to issues affecting employers both at the local and national levels.

We appreciate that local legal advice from established firms is often the best starting point. This local presence, backed up by UEL’s national pool of expertise including niche employment law firms and specialist departments of city based practices, enables them to deal with workplace issues, whatever the level of complexity, wherever and whenever they arise.

United Employment Lawyers is a network brand – known for the level of independent service and attention to client’s concerns. However, this does not interfere with a law firm’s existing name and standing in its community. All UEL members remain independent law firms or employment law consultancies. It’s our belief that local knowledge is the bedrock of good employment law support.

Our members benefit from regular training opportunities and seminars from leading employment law experts. We meet regularly to discuss common legal issues that affect business clients.

Clients of UEL member firms have access to unique employment law insurance, as well as market leading health and safety services.

What We Stand For

United Employment Lawyers members are committed to providing employers with employment law support that is of the highest quality at fair value, which reflects the advice and expertise given to clients.

UEL members believe in the highest levels of integrity, discretion and honesty when dealing with clients.

They also believe in maintaining the highest level of ethical standards for legal services, making a commitment to serving their clients’ needs.

UEL firms believe in supporting clients who wish to achieve best practice in the workplace. They support their clients with pragmatic, down to earth and commercial advice as the circumstances dictate.

We have access to leading expertise in employment law

Our network is run by lawyers. That’s crucial for us. That gives plenty of firepower – and accumulated expertise.

United Employment Lawyers members are able to handle complex employment law cases with the confidence that they can draw on a panel of legal expertise from throughout our network. They have the back up and support of lawyers in other member firms with many decades of experience in handling and resolving employment disputes.

How we operate

Following assessment, member firms are invited to join by the application of a number of criteria. These include reputation for employment law expertise (including testimonials in Legal directories such as Legal 500), local reputation, proven expertise of individual lawyers and peer review. In addition to this technical expertise, having the correct attitude and commitment to client service is paramount.

Member firms pay a flat subscription as a membership fee. They receive training and support from United Employment Lawyers and from each other.  Expertise is pooled at regular meetings to ensure that firms keep abreast of all relevant issues.  This creates an environment that allows member firms to refer clients to others safe in the knowledge that they will be well looked after and to receive business from other firms

Other services

UEL can provide member firms with business support in a variety of ways including specialist training, mentoring of employment lawyers and help with growing an employment practice. We have particular expertise in developing business models to complement the traditional law firm and give greater flexibility in delivering client services. Contact us on [email protected] if you wish to discuss.

Note: The members of United Employment Lawyers are separate and independent law firms. There is no legal relationship between the firms or with the network itself. No member firm is responsible for the professional services performed by any other member firm. United Employment Lawyers itself is not a law firm and beyond providing business support to member firms does not provide any legal or professional services either in its own name or otherwise.
