UEL members must adhere to the following code of conduct:
- Always put the interests of the client first
- Keep up to date with employment law developments
- Never act against the interests of other member firms
- Never attempt to poach clients of other member firms
- Treat fellow members with courtesy and respect
- Collaborate with other members to benefit clients
- Deal with referrals promptly and courteously
- Apply the highest standards of professional service
- Acknowledge referrals and thank the referring firm
- Comply with the rules set down by their regulatory body
- Apply reasonable hourly rates to clients referred
- Report any breaches of this code of conduct to UEL
